The town centre has a magnificent backdrop of mountains and forests. World-class golf resorts are located on the outskirts of the city. Located in the southwest of Mallorca, Santa Ponsa has two large sandy beaches: the 560 metre long section known as “the big beach”; and the smaller bay of Caló d’en Pallisser, which locals call “Playa pequeña” or “small beach”. For shopping there is a large selection of boutiques and souvenir shops as well as the Saturday market with its quirky street vendors. The nearby Polígono Son Bugadelles is a large business park with a good gym and a wide range of retail businesses.
