Puig de Ros is a small, manageable village in the south of Mallorca, which belongs to the municipality of Llucmajor. Located directly on the old and very beautiful steep coast road between Playa de Palma and Cala Pi, there is no sand, but the steeply rising walls of the coast are not only an idyllic backdrop, they also invite you to swim and snorkel. Apart from the local beach club, the lack of tourist infrastructure also makes the Playa de Puig de Ros so attractive and the favourite beach of many inhabitants of Palma.
The shallow rock slabs, almost at sea level, are perfect for sunbathing and allow a very pleasant and easy access to the crystal clear water. Those who like it individually can hike a little to the right and to the left alongside the coast and look for one of the many beautiful places right at the sea, partly rocky but also with sandy sections and entrances. The whole coastal section is also very suitable for diving and snorkelling. Armed with mask and snorkel, you can get in touch with the varied flora and fauna of the local underwater world.
Beside the rather rough rocky coast there is a very nice beach club in Puigderrós, the “Mhares Sea Club”. The Beach Club with a large pool, as well as a large sunbathing area with sun loungers (for a fee), scores not only with absolutely fantastic views of the open sea and the bay of Palma, but also with the delicious cuisine of the local restaurant.
The central location makes Puig de Ros and the region especially attractive for individual holidaymakers and families at the same time, who like to spend their holidays away from the big tourist streams in the southwest without being too far from the action. For example, the water amusement park “Aqualand” about 10 kilometres away offers families with children a good change. Besides, some of the surrounding sandy beaches are among the most beautiful beaches of Mallorca. Especially the well-known and very popular natural beaches Es Trenc and Sa Rapita or the bay of Cala Pi are only 15-20 minutes away.
