Port d’Andratx in the southwest of Mallorca is considered the island’s most beautiful harbor town and has preserved a touch of its original character thanks to its fjord-like bay.
The winding road from Camp de Mar in the southwest of Mallorca to Port d’Andratx leads through a wooded landscape of fragrant pines. In the last few meters, the pretty blue bay with its countless white boats appears as if out of nowhere; in the background, the Tramuntana mountains rise majestically.
On the left and right of the U-shaped bay of Port d’Andratx, long and short breakwaters and jetties extend into the harbor, and many boats—from old fishing cutters to elegant sailing yachts—bob in the gentle waves. The marina, considered one of the most beautiful natural harbors in the world, feels almost like a small fjord. Around 500 vessels can moor here—and in the summer months they do, at least it feels that way. The “Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx” is particularly popular with sailors, also because the sheltered harbor is so easy to approach.
